Happy Easter!

“Do not be alarmed. You seek Jesus of Nazareth, who was crucified. He is risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid Him.” Mark 16:6

With Easter approaching, and tons of little ones suddenly in my life, I got to work making bunnies!

Each bunny would be different, so I got to be creative with my fabric choices.

The pattern consisted of two pieces, a back…

….and a front.

The pattern had some darts at the bunny’s bottom. This would allow it to be able to sit when it is all put together.

I then sewed the two front pieces together.

Then I sewed the two back pieces together, leaving an opening in the back where I could stuff it.

The back opening is between the two triangles.

Before sewing the front and back together, I had to install the safety eyes and the safety nose. I had to mark from the pattern where the eyes and nose should be placed.

I then pinned the front and back together. Once sewn, I clipped all the curves so the seam would lay flat.

Once the bunny was turned right side out, I top stitched around his ears.

Once stuffed, I hand sewed the back opening. The bunnies were ready for Easter!

Later he and his bunny had a trip to the park.

Of course big brother, Bert, made it to the park with his bunny in tow, too!

The rest of the bunnies would have to wait. Some went out in the mail, some will be delivered on Easter Sunday. Here’s how they turned out.

This was a big sew because there were lots of bunnies to make! I’m happy to give homemade gifts, but also happy that Easter only comes once a year! I’m tired of bunnies for now! This sew took me longer than usual, and this post is shorter than some! However, I feel rested and ready to keep sewing!
