I love the style of the 1940’s! The next pattern in my collection is a retro 1940’s dress. My sister Michelle volunteered to be the model for this one. I decided to make view B, but with the shorter sleeve option.
This pattern featured fun fashion facts from the 1940’s.
Time to get to work! Michelle chose a solid purple fabric for this dress. The dress has a lot of pleats and gathers. The fabric is a poly-blend, so it is very floppy. Pinning it all into place was definitely a challenge.

It actually came together easier than I first expected.
I’m very happy with the way the dress came out.
Now Michelle has a new dress…as for me, onto the next!
