STAR WARS
Episode I
A New Dress
The year is 2015, and this amazing fabric was found by rebel spies in a fabric store. Ok, the rebel spies are just Mia and myself! A dress was made out of it, and it was worn to the movie theater when Star Wars Episode VII- The Force Awakens came out. Here’s a picture of Mia wearing her dress back in 2015.
The dress got worn a few more times, but spent a lot of time in the closet while Mia finished high school, and then college.
If you’ll remember, before Mia got her job offer in Georgia, she had bought tickets to Disneyland. She had to cancel her trip because of her quick career move. Mia found some time in her schedule to finally use her Disneyland tickets. Since I had already featured her Little Mermaid dress that I had made for her Disneyland trip (see blog post “My Little Mermaid Becomes Part of Their World”.) Mia needed something different to wear to Disneyland. I suggested the Star Wars dress. It had never been to Disneyland, and there is a whole world dedicated to Star Wars. Mia agreed that it would be perfect!
Out of the closet the dress came! Luckily I still had the scraps from making the dress, and was able to make a matching mask!
So thus begins the Star Wars dress in Star Wars land photo dump! There were so many places to take good pictures that I had to load them all!
Mia made her own mouse ears while she was in Georgia. When she got back and saw that I still had the fabric, she cut out Princess Leia and Han Solo to decorate them with.
I love them! She knows. HA!
In line for Rise of the Resistance.
Star Wars things.
Disneyland makes a great backdrop for my blog!
Rey was warning us that there might be trouble ahead. I think the trouble might be us wanting to buy too many things in the gift shop!
BB-8
A Rebel flight suit, the height of fashion since 1977!
Riding in a transport.
This might be the trouble that Rey warned us about!
Mia’s poor Leia buns were becoming a victim of gravity!
But a bad hair day in space happens when you’re fighting in a rebellion.
Best dress in the galaxy!
Mia was feeling confident, Elizabeth was nervously watching Imperial Soldiers!
On the Millennium Falcon, waiting for Chewbacca to come and play.
Intercepting a message.
In the cockpit of the Millennium Falcon!
Flying on an unknown planet, no big deal.
Trying to figure out what all of the buttons do.
Space luggage.
Han shot first.
Jabba juice and Luke’s nasty looking blue milk. Just so you know, blue milk is delicious!
Cheers to us making it into Oga’s Cantina! You need reservations, but we got lucky with the app and the stand-by line!
Star Wars land is amazingly detailed!
In the marketplace.
Mia and the Millennium Falcon.
Mia’s Star Wars apartment!
Mia and a First Order TIE Echelon.
Land speeders, the orange one is a X-34 model like Luke’s from Episode IV.
Finally we found Chewbacca! He growled at Mia and motioned that he liked her dress! High praise indeed!
This isn’t the droid you’re looking for.
Off to another favorite ride!
I remembered to smile for the camera. Mia was nervous about being in the front!
And we had the grey stuff, it was delicious!
We had a magical time. Mia got so many compliments on her dress!
May the Force be with you!
As for me, onto the next!
