Baby Luka’s Big Adventure

My cousins Rhonda and Scott recently became grandparents to handsome baby Luka. With a new baby there are lots of changes, but the biggest one in Luka’s life was starting. Skylar, his dad, got a promotion at work, and that meant that they would be moving to Texas! They were going to stop by to see family on their long drive across several states, so of course, Luka needed a traveling outfit for his first big adventure!

I chose view D. I decided to make it Texas themed. I looked through my fabric, and of course, had the perfect fabric, that features Texas on it!

I cut fabric for the bib so that Texas was right in the middle of the outfit.

To finish this outfit, the pattern called for snap tape on the legs, to make diaper changes easier. I had never used snap tape. I sewed and ripped, and sewed and ripped. I had such a hard time getting it to lay flat and not twist the material. I didn’t take any pictures of my struggles, I was struggling! It’s always so frustrating when something you’re trying to do isn’t working!

I eventually got it to lay as flat as I could get it. I’ve got to get better at snap tape. Or maybe next time I’ll look into the snap installation tools that I know are out there. Either way, I need to improve my snap game!

They arrived and after many kisses, Luka tried on his outfit and was ready to pose!

As I write this they are still on the road. Luka will soon be done with his on the road adventure, and starting a new chapter in Texas, with a snazzy new outfit!

I wish Luka, and his parents, Skylar and Kymberly, nothing but the best in their new adventure together!

I’m sure Grandma and Grandpa will be out often to visit, which means more adventure for them too! How lucky they are, there is no better adventure to be on! Watching Luka grow and have many more firsts, and sharing that adventure with him.
