Well guess who has been slacking when it comes to sewing, you’re right, it’s me! Of course I have a project always going, but lately with the heat of summer, and the lazy days of summer vacation, I haven’t been motivated.
We were going on a quick vacation and I needed a simple project, and wanted a gift to give to the hostess of our vacation. This apron would be perfect!
I chose view 1. I knew our hostess, Rhonda, could use an apron with lots of pockets. Rhonda loves to garden, bake, can, and craft! Pockets are a must!
I thought this fabric that looks like a picnic table cloth, with strawberries on it, would make a cute apron.
Thank goodness it was an easy sew!
Anytime things have straps you have to sew them, then turn them right side out. It’s tedious, but then again so is sewing sometimes!
Top stitching the straps.
Off to Scott and Rhonda’s house we go! It was a pretty drive, and only took us one day. We went by Mt. Shasta.
And made it to our beautiful destination on the Coquille River.
The view from the river.
Kayaking with my dog Pinkie. Yes, she got to come along. We didn’t have a dog sitter so off to Oregon she went too!
It was very relaxing for Pinkie and myself.
Relaxing with drinks and snacks. All of the beautiful green, blooming plants kicked my allergies into full gear! My nose was red and running, it was best to keep taking pictures of the dog! HA!
But it’s not all fun and relaxation on a farm! I helped Rhonda transplant some vegetables, I love to garden too. The apron and the pockets were perfect for putting small hand tools in while hard at work.
And the pockets were perfect for picking ripe veggies and stashing them while you water!
Discussing how to keep deer out of the garden with Michael. Maybe I need to sew a scarecrow, any ideas?
The apron is as versatile as Rhonda! It’s perfect for protecting your clothes against stains while you mix drinks for your guests!
So cute, with plenty of pocket space!
Rhonda showing off some cookies she whipped up. But what’s that on the table? Jam from her homegrown berries. You always need an apron for canning and jam making, it’s messy!
Inside gardening, lots of basil everywhere!
Rhonda and Scott have a relaxing and incredibly scenic home! They are so hospitable and fun! I can’t wait to visit again (hopefully not during allergy season) but I survived so I’m game!
A little apron was the least that I could do to say thank you for opening your house to us, and Pinkie, and showing us a great time!
As for me, onto the next!
Super cute! Love aprons with pockets!! Rhonda looks adorable in her new apron!
That is so cute. An apron is a must for a homemaker. What a thoughtful gift one that I’m sure will be used and loved for years to come.
Love the apron and the model! I especially enjoyed seeing pictures of Pinkie’s adventures! 🥰
Rhonda looked ravashing in her new multifunctional apron, Pinkie looked perky. ‘Sew’ all in all, everything in the garden was rosy…even Nicole’s nose!!!
Great apron and story! So glad you all had fun!!❤️❤️
