Loveliness In Green

While having a sewing day with my nieces, to sew a dress for Jenna (See previous blog post,”Jenna’s Summer Vacation”) Kira started looking through my patterns. She found this shirt pattern and loved it! I told her to pick out some fabric from my stash, and some buttons that coordinate. She made her choices and after finishing up a few other things I got to work.

Kira chose view A which is the sleeveless option. This shirt only had a few pieces to cut out. The pattern isn’t marketed as “easy”, but it was an easy sew.

Here are the bust darts getting marked and pinned.

I then sewed the back darts.

This shirt features a square neckline. The back and front facings are very specific!

The armholes are finished with bias tape. I had this color in my stash that matched the little flowers on the fabric, so I used it.

These are the buttons that Kira picked out.

I made the button holes, then opened the holes using my seam ripper.

The shirt was finished and off it went with Kira to San Luis Obispo, for a little summer vacation of her own! Of course for a visit with Mia too!

This shirt looks so good on Kira! I absolutely love her fabric and button choice!
