“It is not how much we give, but how much love we put into giving.”~Mother Teresa
With Christmas rapidly approaching I knew that if I wanted to give any homemade gifts I would have to get busy now. I wanted to make a homemade gift for a special little girl who loves dinosaurs. I decided to try my hand at stuffed animals as I picked out this pattern from my collection.
The pattern is from 1987, and I didn’t want to go with green fabric. I chose pink floral fabric that I had in my stash. I laid out the pieces and got them cut out.
Assembly was simple, just a matter of sewing the right sides of the pieces together then flipping them right side out.
I had to stuff the pieces, and for that I used poly-fiber fill. The legs all had to be sewn on by hand.
Looking a little weird with only one leg!
I had the legs sewn on. The pattern calls for felt eyes but I found these snap on eyes for stuffed animals. I like the look of them better than the felt ones the pattern called for.
All that was left to do was to embroider on a mouth.
This super sweet dinosaur is ready to be wrapped for Christmas!
It’s a good thing for me that the recipient can’t read my blog yet! I always enjoy giving a homemade gift better than something store bought. The commercialism of Christmas drives me nuts, this is a small way that I can combat it!
Any gift that is given is a great one if it’s given with love.
As for me, onto the next!
Super cute! 💕
Love it
That’s so cute! Didn’t realize it was so big, she’s going to love it ❣️
Adorable! The dinosaur has such a sincere little smile! 😊
Even cuter then the pattern picture! I’m sure this gift recepient will one day realize how much she is loved by these special hand sewn gifts she receives.
Super adorable! I need to get off my lazy butt and start making projects again!
Love the pink dinosaur. The little miss is going to love it.
