“Ohana means family, family means no one gets left behind or forgotten.”~Lilo
While at a fabric store, Elizabeth found Lilo and Stitch fabric. Since Alice is a huge fan she showed Alice the fabrics and she chose this one as her favorite. Through my patterns she then went and found this year 2000 pattern with nine different style choices. Alice picked out the one she wanted and I got to work!
Alice chose view B which features tulip shaped pockets. Laying out the pattern.
Skirt pattern pieces all laid out. The smallest size this pattern had was a child size 6. Alice is a 5 but I decided to go ahead with the 6 so she can grow into it and have it for a longer time.
The bodice ties at the shoulders, and has a liner exactly like the bodice.
You sew the bodice and liner right sides together, then clip the curves and turn it right side out.
The tulip shaped pockets also had a liner. You sew the two pieces right sides together, clip the corners, and turn it right side out.
Pinning the pocket into place.
Once the skirt was gathered I pinned it to the bodice.
I stitched down the liner and then it was time to hem!
I had these tags I had just bought and thought a Lilo and Stitch dress needed a reminder of how much I love little Alice and sewing for her.
SO many of my sews have been made to music. I listen and sew. During this sew, however, a song was stuck in my head the entire time! Here it is so it can be stuck in your head too!
The dress was finished and delivered! Get ready for some cuteness!
Alice and Stitch getting ready for their photo shoot.
Make up is perfect!
Time to play and make a few phone calls.
What on earth is going on at the other end of the phone? HA!
It’s the perfect dress for some light cooking.
First you saute your veggies….
A nice cup of tea was in order.
Ready for her close up!
This was an easy dress to make, and fun! Alice loved it and Stitch did too! I’m glad Alice got to pick out her fabric, and the pattern that she wanted. She’s getting old enough to make her own fashion decisions. With someone who can sew in her ohana, she’ll always be fashionable!
As for me, onto the next!
Nice choice of pattern and fabric Alice ! A cute dress on a sweet girl ❤️
Alice has no idea how lucky she is to have so many custom-made Disney dresses! She’s so cute!!! I’m glad she loves her Lilo and Stitch dress.
This is so cute!
