“Cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to you, and to give thanks continuously. And because all thing have contributed to your advancement, you should include all things in your gratitude.”~Ralph Waldo Emerson
Yes, this pattern looks familiar! I made it a few weeks ago, using yellow gingham and some Pepsi fabric. The Pepsi apron was a hit! Aunt Tamy, and others, wanted it, but I had already sent it off to the first person who claimed it! I let Aunt Tamy know that I had more Pepsi fabric, and would make another for her. She liked the pattern, and chose the fabric. I got to work!
Laying it out was simple enough!
Sewing the back piece and the front piece together.
The pattern called for a bias tape edge. I mentioned previously that Marisa had given me some vintage sewing supplies. I had already used the aluminum clips to make the clutch purses. There was also this adorable gingham bias tape. I wanted to use it but it was too wide. I decided to cut it in half, and run it through my bias tape maker. It creates new folds that you iron to make bias tape.
Sewing on the bias tape.
Creating the back loops for the tie straps.
For the pockets I decided to use solid red. I had enough leftover from my dress a few weeks ago.
Pinning the pockets into place.
TA DA! It was all done and delivered in time for a Thanksgiving get together!
Homemade pies go well with a homemade apron!
It was a simple sew of a pattern that I’ve made before, but it’s like that sometimes! I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving.
If you are reading this Friday morning, after Thanksgiving, may I suggest some pie and coffee while you finish this up, and perhaps browse some older posts.
I’m thankful you are all still following me along on this sewing adventure!
As for me, onto the next!
