“If a thing is worth doing, it is worth doing well. If it is worth having, it is worth waiting for. If it is worth attaining, it is worth fighting for. If it is worth experiencing, it is worth putting aside time for.” ~ Oscar Wilde
I really liked the look of this apron. It has a very “rustic” look and I thought it would be cute in muslin. I thought that if I really liked the adult apron that I would make the child one to match.
I like the criss cross back, but not the ruffled sleeves.
Much to my surprise when I got the pattern pieces out, the ruffles on the sleeves weren’t something that you added, they were part of the pattern. I decided to cut them off.
Laying out the back pieces.
The apron was simple. Sew it together at the shoulder seams. Then pin the front to the liner with right sides together. It was a lot to sew then flip.
Flipping it took a while. I had to press the seams once it was right side out.
Then the directions said to sew the side seams together at the openings where I had flipped it.
Then tuck and pin the sides closed.
It was a quick sew and was all done! Muslin has a very rustic look so I was pleased with how it turned out.
I decided to use scrap fabric for the pockets. I had this leftover from Mia’s dress. See link below for that post.
I think they add a much needed pop of color, and some fun!
The back has this criss-cross back that I adore!
This and other aprons in up coming posts are going to a booth at a craft fair to be sold. Along with Marisa and Russell’s candy, of course! It’s hard sometimes to start something, and build the inventory. You’ve got to help when you are able, and I’m able.
As for me, onto the next!
I think ever gal should have at least 5 different aprons!😝 This one is adorable. Great choice with the pockets and the crisscross back is charming as ever.
I only have 2 aprons, so I guess I’m in need, lol!
Super cute!
Super cute. I’m wondering what it would have looked like with a contrasting ruffle added? Even though the ruffle was part of the pattern, you could have added it…does that make sense? Anyway, it’s still really cute and I love the “tablecloth “ pockets ❤️
I love aprons and this one I really love. The cross back adds a flare of uniqueness and aprons with pockets is a must!! Love it!! Good job!
